Course Description:
This program will give you an orientation to the essential principles, concepts and operations of banking and a firm grounding in the business of banking. Students will learn about the important role banks play in the economy, the challenges of competition, and current banking trends. By the end of the course, students will have a "big picture" perspective of the financial services industry and banking.

Audience:
Bank personnel new to the banking industry at all levels, specialists in non-banking functions such as marketing, information systems and human resources.

Learning Objectives:
After successfully completing this program, you will be able to:

  • Summarize the business of banking
  • Summarize important federal laws and regulations affecting bank operations and practices
